I’ve learned to see into things — over the years I’ve collected found objects, with the intent to one day create art inspired by them. The concept has been an age-old vehicle for artistic afflatus.

Last June, at sunset on the banks of the Potomac River, I saw this empty jug lying in the rocks. The more I looked at it and the more the sun set, the more a face appeared. Being very fond of tribal masks, I became immediately aware of the possibilities. I’ve since collected jugs of different shapes.
